The Camp
Since 1918, campers have come to Onondaga Camp each summer to discover the challenges and rewards of outdoor adventure and friendship. A true Canadian summer tradition, Onondaga Camp offers an extraordinary environment for kids to play, explore, achieve, and grow.
Onondaga Camp is a overnight summer camp for children ages 6-16 near Minden, Ontario. We facilitate over 1,500 campers each summer. We hire staff on the basis of the soundness and maturity of their judgment, their commitment to being strong role models, and most importantly their ability to establish positive and caring relationships with their campers.
The Position
Onondaga Camp is looking for certified (RN/RPN) nursing staff for the summer of 2021. Applications are welcomed from certified and graduating nurses as well as students.Health Centre staff are responsible for the general health and well-being of our campers and staff as well as the management of our infirmary in conjunction with the camp doctor.
Specific roles and responsibilities include:
Daily clinics (time for campers/staff to visit the health centre to see a nurse or thedoctor) and associated charting.
Daily medication administration.
First aid kit maintenance (camp activities and overnight canoe trips).
Assistance with daily first aid and medical emergencies as required.

Responsible for ensuring all health and safety measures are being followed at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

The Camp offers an outdoor residential camping experience to boys and girls between the ages of 8-16 years. The Camp community consists of about 30 youth staff and about 120 campers per session during its summer season.
The Camp is located on Lake Pringle just outside Cloyne, Ontario. A cottage, laundry service and meals are provided. In addition to enjoying the unspoiled lakefront setting, the camp facilities are available for use.

The primary role of the Medical Coordinator is to be a positive-minded leader who ensures the safety, health and well-being of campers, family members, staff and volunteers through policy development, training and medical support.
Camp Quality Canada offers an array of program opportunities for children affected by cancer and blood disorders and their families, throughout Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta; including virtual programs, overnight summer camp, family weekends and community programs.
Job Responsibilities:
Support our vision and strategy to grow our year-round medical programs, including but not limited to evaluating medical conditions served and possibilities for program expansion.
Advise the Sr. Director of Programs, Executive Director and Camp Directors on best medical practices for policy and program.
Build and foster relationships through networking, outreach and education with founding hospitals, health partners, local clinics, emergency response teams, and other key medical players.
Recruit physicians, nurses, including medical sub-specialists, at referring hospitals and institutions to provide volunteer coverage during on-site programs.
Help oversee the year-round medical volunteers to provide excellent medical care with appropriate medical coverage for a safe and meaningful camp experience.
Collaborate with Sr. Director of Programs on all issues involving camper care, medical protocols, staff recruitment and hiring, and staff management.
With the Sr. Director of Programs, develop standardized medical volunteer orientation and training.

BSN degree and current licensure as a registered nurse in Ontario

Camp Misquah offers a memorable summer experience for youth and adults with developmental disabilities, with ages ranging from 14 to 60+. The Camp is located about 90 minutes from Ottawa on the shores of Lac Bitobi near Gracefield, Quebec. It is a rewarding place to work and has received a 5 star rating on the Indeed Jobsite.
This is an overnight camp for campers and staff with high staff to camper ratios. Planning is underway regarding the schedule, however typically there are six 7 day camp sessions with short breaks between sessions, along with pre-camp training, both in Ottawa (one day) and at camp (three days). Training will start is late June with camp sessions running from early July 2 to late August. Exact dates will be determined in early 2021.
To be successful, the Camp needs to have youth with a broad range of skills, energy and an interest in doing something different this summer. We are looking for:
