Canadian Adventure Camp is a full-service children\'s summer camp located on beautiful 160-acre Adventure Island in Temagami, Ontario! We feature a full program of 35 great camp activities, including 3 specialty programs, with campers and staff from around the world! Canadian Adventure Camp is the summer camp home to 150 boys and girls, aged 5 through 17 years.
Canadian Adventure Camp is looking for Kitchen Staff. The successful applicant(s) will be friendly, customer-service oriented, responsible, well-organized and able to cope in a busy and fast pace atmosphere.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Preparing and washing of vegetables.
-Cooking and Preparation of compound salads, dressing, garnishes.
-Work neatly and organized.
-Follow food safety regulations.
-Meeting the needs of the campers at all times
-Maintain and clean all fridges and freezers.
-Maintain Kitchen cleanliness.

Lodge Chef - Camp Wanapitei Chateau
The Camp Wanapitei Chateau has been operating for 89 years in beautiful Sandy Inlet on Lake Temagami. What started as a hunting and fishing lodge is now host to Camp Wanapitei families, canoe trippers, travellers, artists and wilderness seekers. The lodge is known for its excellent food, service and location. Guest capacity in the ten room lodge ranges from 2 to 30 for most of the season with larger reunion groups and programs spread out throughout the season. At times during the summer, the lodge is quiet allowing for rest and relaxation for the chef.
Qualifications: Can make meals from scratch, including homemade baked goods. Must be familiar with and able to prepare meals to meet popular food trends and preferences. Not necessary to be professionally trained as we often hire individuals who have experience cooking for large families or groups. Food Handler’s certification required (will reimburse).

Position: Food Coordinator, Red Wolf Overnight Camp

The Pine Project is seeking a skilled backcountry food coordinator, with experience working at children’s overnight camps, to join our Red Wolf Overnight Wilderness Camp staff team. Reporting to the Red Wolf Director team, the Food Coordinator will be responsible for food planning, purchasing, and packing. Unlike many overnight camps, the entirety of Red Wolf Overnight Wilderness Camp takes place in a backcountry setting, with campers and staff living in tents, cooking for themselves over open fires, and living in harmony with the land. As such, this role is critical to ensuring the success of our camp. The Food Coordinator would live on site in a backcountry setting for the duration of the contract.
Duties and responsibilities:
Menu planning and food purchasing for camp groups
Ensure food is nutritious and meets guidelines set by Canada’s Food Guide
Actioning and overseeing food packing for camp groups
Ensure appropriate quantities of food are available for camp groups
Create food clean-up and re-stock systems for groups
Ability to ensure all special dietary needs are met
Ensure all food is properly labelled
Drive program vehicles to and from program locations for necessary purchases
Participate in staff training week and camp take-down weekend
Be prepared to work and live in a backcountry setting in all weather conditions (food is packed indoors)
Provide cover for absent staff as required
Ensure a high level of quality, cleanliness, and food safety within the available facilities
Follow safe food handling and sanitary procedures
Ensure proper storage, maintenance and organization of food products, ongoing inventory, rotating stock, etc.
Coordinate with Camp Managers and staff to ensure food needs are met
Qualifications and requirements:
Experience with food planning and packing overnight backcountry trips in a camp setting
Excellent problem solving skills, results focused, and able to work autonomously
Highly organized and demonstrated ability to create and maintain systems
Up to date Police Vulnerable Sectors Check or willingness to obtain
Up to date Standard First Aid and CPR-C or higher or willingness to obtain
Up to date Class G Driver’s License with clean driving record
Food Handlers Certificate and WHMIS or willingness to obtain
Staff must also:
Be enthusiastic, outgoing, and flexible
Have experience working with children
Be able and willing to work as part of a team
Show maturity and the ability to practice good judgement
Identify with Pine's mission statement and core values
Have a desire to further their own naturalist/wilderness skills, mentoring techniques, and/or nature connection
Preference will be given to applicants who have:
Up to date National Lifeguard certification (preferred)
Naturalist knowledge of local ecosystems (preferred)
Up to date Wilderness First Aid certification (WFR/WAFA/WFA) (preferred)

Nature and Scope:
YMCA Camp Pine Crest is located in Muskoka, Ontario. It is a year round operating facility with a large traditional summer camp, growing winter programs, and busy spring and fall Outdoor Centre. The Team Lead is a leader on the Food Services team in providing excellent service to clients, campers and families. The Team Lead will assist the Food Service Supervisors to manage the overall operation of two camp kitchens by planning healthy and delicious meals, placing food orders, supervising staff and creating schedules. Additionally Team Leads will play an important rols in food preparation for approximately 300 people daily. Team Leader will help prepare and serve 3 meals a day to campers and staff. Accomodations are available on site.
- Builds relationships with members, staff volunteers and community partners
- Supervise Prep Cook team and ensure all meals are prepared and delivered in a timely manner
- Manage and coordinate a staff team to run a kitchen indpendent of the Food Service Manager. This includes the operation of the kitchen throughout the day including opening, closing and meal service throughout the day
- Maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen by performing regular cleanings, inspections and daily reporting
- Assists in the delivery of food-based programming to campers with activities like pizza making, baking, food dehydration and food preparation competitions
- Understands the importance of the volunteer-staff partnership and integrates the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in dealing with participants, volunteers, and staff
-Demonstrates appropriate behaviours in line with our Mission, Vision and Values as reflected in our YMCA competencies

- Standard First Aid and CPR C
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently achieve optimal collective results

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, team-oriented staff to prepare snacks and meals for campers and staff.

The Kitchen staff works together to prepare food, clean up, and interact with campers as required.
Cooking at Camp Northway is a unique experience–with no electricity, we cook on a wood-burning stove, and prep food by hand.
Our kitchen staff are very much a part of camp life. Just like our campers and counsellors, you will live in a platform tent at camp.
Food Handlers Certification is an asset.
