Live, Work, and Play with Children in Algonquin Park This Summer!
Camp Arowhon is a traditional co-ed residential summer camp in the heart of Algonquin Park, Ontario. Our mission is to nurture and challenge children, both physically and emotionally. Our community of 350 campers is big enough to be diverse but still feels like a family. Our team of 150 staff means that the campers get a ton of individual attention, and you have a whole bunch of like-minded people to hang out with.
At Arowhon, you will receive professional training and expert support and supervision. You will grow yourself while you help children grow. You will leave feeling proud because you made campers feel proud of themselves. You will work hard and play hard, all in a beautiful wilderness setting.
Our in-camp activities are focused on teaching activity specific technical skills to both beginners and experts. Our goal is that our campers develop technical proficiency, build self-confidence, and develop a sense of community through instruction.

Experiences with top rope climbing and static courses, Challenge Course Practitioner Level 1 an asset.

Responsibilities:
Manage Kandalore\'s ropes programs including Challenge Course, Giant Swing, Climbing Wall and Rock Climbing Wall.
Support and manage staff at all ropes activities based on program needs and staff strengths.
Ensure staff are actively facilitating all activity periods (i.e. engagement of campers, skill development).
Ensure accurate record keeping for all ropes activities, including logbooks and camper achievements.
Provide ongoing feedback and support to ropes staff.
Write evaluations for staff and Leaders in Training every 2 weeks.
Provide aerial inspections for all ropes elements.
Continually seek ways to improve ropes activties by facilitating engaging programs with a focus on skill development.

Job Description
Management and scheduling of all staff working on ropes elements based on program needs and staff strengths
Ensure all staff are engaging campers and running safe programs with a focus on skill development.

The Camp
Since 1918, campers have come to Onondaga Camp each summer to discover the challenges and rewards of outdoor adventure and friendship. A true Canadian summer tradition, Onondaga Camp offers an extraordinary environment for kids to play, explore, achieve, and grow.
Onondaga Camp is a summer overnight camp for children ages 6-16 near Minden, Ontario. We facilitate over 1,500 campers each summer. We hire staff on the basis of the soundness and maturity of their judgment, their commitment to being strong role models, and most importantly their ability to establish positive and caring relationships with their campers.
The Position
Onondaga Camp is looking for both a head and assistant head of the program. The Head of Riding is responsible for the management of the riding program as a whole, with support from 2 Assistant Heads. Responsibilities include the following:
Care and feeding of 12 horses.
Preparing riding for summer (site-maintenance), training of staff, and development of program.
Implementing program for all campers at riding, ensuring safety and skill development as a priority.
Developing and tracking levels for all ages who attend riding to ensure skill development as priority. Levels must be provided to program director at the end of each session.
Providing feedback to all staff and leadership program participants, including informal and bi-weekly reviews.
Co-ordination with Assistant Direct/Program Director for any maintenance issues that arise.
Horse Show – Co-ordinate the entire horseback riding show, ensuring ample camper participation exists.
Inventory control.
End of year inventory, and wish list for following summer.
Necessary Qualifications/Competencies
Previous experience riding, caring for horses, mucking/barn management.
Experience teaching riding skills

On the Shore of Lake Huron – 5 Minutes north of Goderich, Ontario.
Camp Menesetung (25 staff, 50-70 campers/week) is a non-profit charity that seeks to provide amazing growth opportunities to campers (ages 5-15) of all backgrounds at subsidized rates – Camp is for Everyone. Required Qualifications:

Complete training and deliver programming from any of our program areas to groups of students or rental groups from late May-June. Day job, typically scheduled 20-30 hours/week. Wanakita Family Camp offers programs for families, in a summer camp environment. We are located in Haliburton, Ontario.
Family Camp Area Heads are qualified instructors who also act as support personnel at Wanakita’s Family Camp. They have primary responsibilities in program planning, delivery and instruction and are responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, upkeep, and scheduling of their program area at camp. Most programs are geared towards participants of all ages and experience. They may also be responsible for providing support to any Full-Summer or weekly visiting All-Camp Counsellors who assist with programming. They have additional responsibilities for evening programs, campfires, mealtime supervision, support tasks, special events and activities, as well as providing leadership within their area. Air Adventure Area Heads are responsible for the training and program delivery in the Challenge Course and Initiative Areas. They are responsible for the ongoing maintenance of Wanakita’s challenge course areas and for the upkeep of all related equipment. Wanakita Family Camp operates a Flying Squirrel Element, High Ropes and Low Ropes Adventure courses as well as several stand-alone initiative elements and activities.
Minimum qualifications: Standard First Aid & CPR C. A minimum Challenges Unlimited Inc. (CUI) or Adventure works! Associates Inc. Level 1 certification or equivalent is mandatory. Higher instructor or facilitator levels would be considered significant assets

Responsibilities also include planning, preparing and facilitating a weekly Talent Show, as well as the upkeep of the performing arts and music building (Hamlin Lodge).

Wanakita Family Camp offers programs for families, in a summer camp environment. We are located in Haliburton, Ontario on beautiful Koshlong Lake. Family Camp Area Heads are qualified instructors who also act as support personnel at Wanakita’s Family Camp. They have primary responsibilities in program planning, delivery and instruction and are responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, upkeep, and scheduling of their program area at camp. Most programs are geared towards participants of all ages and experience. They may also be responsible for providing support to any Full-Summer or weekly visiting All-Camp Counsellors who assist with programming. They have additional responsibilities for evening programs, campfires, mealtime supervision, support tasks, special events and activities, as well as providing leadership within their area. Area Heads may be responsible for leading or co-leading one-night overnights on the lake or our back woods campsite for campers of varying ages. Program Area Heads live in dormitory-style accommodations with other staff. Program Area Heads report to the Family Camp Program Facilitators and Family Camp Director.
Successful applicants may be eligible to receive support in obtaining qualifications that are more expensive or are considered assets and are outside of the general swimming and First Aid qualifications for their respective positions. All Family Camp Area Heads must have a valid Standard First Aid & CPR C certificate, valid through the duration of the summer contract. Since we are largely water-based camp, swimming certification in Bronze Cross or NLS is considered a significant asset (though NLS is mandatory for all waterfront positions).
Note that additional responsibilities regarding COVID-19 protocols will be expected of staff, for the safety of all staff and campers.
