Want to spend your summer on the water? Haliburton Hockey Haven Sports Camp is looking for Waterfront Facilitators/ Lifeguards for the upcoming 2021 camp season. Hockey Haven has over 600 feet of picturesque waterfront, as well as an outdoor pool to compliment our wide arrange of water-based activities. An HHH lifeguard is responsible for the lifeguard supervision of the waterfront and pool as well as the implementation of Lifesaving Society Standards. At Haliburton Hockey Haven there is opportunity to combine lifeguarding with a residential position such as maintenance or cabin counselor.
Job Responsibilities
Facilitate swim tests for every camper weekly.
Supervise the Campers on the waterfront throughout the day, including canoeing, SUP boarding and waterfront activities.
Identify and respond to camper behavior issues using approved camp methods.
Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
Qualifications
Must be 17 years or age or older
Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard
Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C

We are looking for wakeboard instructors to direct our wakeboarding program. At Haliburton Hockey Haven Sports Camp we have a wide range of camper abilities which make for exciting days and an engaging teaching opportunity. We are looking for individual who is able to maintain a safe environment while providing engaging and encouraging instruction to our campers. A minimum of two staff will be on each boat, one to drive and instruct and one to spot and maintain campers.
Responsibilities
Instruct beginner to intermediate wakeboarders to improve basic skills
Preform ability assessments
To rotate within the team and to take responsibility for instruction, driving and spotting
To ensure that safety standards are upheld at all times
To enforce sun safety at all times
Preform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needed

General Responsibilities:
Responsible for enforcement of all safety policies and procedures on the waterfront.
Ensure all daily water activities are adequately lifeguarded and ratios are followed. Coordinate daily waterfront schedules.
Ensure that all the equipment for waterfront programs are maintained and in full repair.
Ensure that waterfront boats and vessels are maintained and in full repair (including crash boats, ski boats, kayaks, canoes, SUP boards, etc.).
Provide support and mentorship for all waterfront and waterfront activity staff.
Work with the Head of Swimming on camper level reports, swim tests, and documentation of camper swim levels.
Have an active presence in camp life.
Participate in camp-wide events and actively contribute to an inclusive environment for staff and campers.
Training: All employees are required to participate in a minimum week-long staff training program beginning June 24th. Permission from the Camp Director is required to miss any part of the staff training.

Bayview Glen is currently looking to hire NLS certified lifeguards for the coming Summer of 2021. Lifeguards will be responsible for accompanying and supervising campers at their selected water-specific specialty camps (Sailing, Wakeboarding/Inflatable, and more). This position reports directly to the Camp Director.
Dates of Employment

Responsibilities and Duties
Accompanying campers via bus to their water-specific specialty camps.
Taking camper attendance when getting on and off the bus at any point.
Responsible for supervising the waterfront area of our individual specialty camps.
Ensure the safety and health of campers and staff while at the water-specific specialty camps.
Ensuring all Covid-19 Safety protocols and Government regulations are being followed.
Communicate regularly with administrative staff member to ensure awareness of any physical, psychological, emotional and/or medical limitations of campers and/or staff that could affect their safety in the water.
Communicate with contact at specialty camps to ensure awareness of any physical, psychological, emotional and/or medical limitations of campers and/or staff that could affect their safety in the water.
Perform rescues and administer First Aid as needed.
Assist in maintaining daily records and inspections of waterfront area.
Qualifications and Skills
Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) qualifications (or Red Cross certification).
Standard First Aid Training and CPR- C or higher required (certified on or after September 2019).
Comfortable providing detailed and written incident/accident reports.
Additional aquatic qualifications an asset (Pool Operator, Aquatic Safety inspector, NLS Instructor, Lifesaving instructor, swim instructor, instructor training.
Preference given to those applicants with previous life-guarding experience within a camp and waterfront setting.
As a condition of employment, a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Check and First Aid certification will be required.

The day camp is located in a beautiful country setting, 50 minutes from Toronto, on the shores of Lake Simcoe and operates 9am-4pm daily for 8 week-long sessions, beginning July 5, 2021. Paddlesports Specialist - Department Head is responsible for the dynamic planning and safe delivery of their Activity area program, and will oversee support staff. Job Title: Program Support Instructor
Reports To: Head of Waterfront / Program Director

The Program Support Instructors have a diverse yet important role in our camp environment. These Instructors work as additional water qualified staff, to provide extra supervision and assistance in various camp areas but not limited to; waterfront programming, camp programming, the Teammate program, program maintenance, and Staff Development Bronze Med/Bronze Cross Instruction. In regards to any water front assistance, the Program Support Instructors will be responsible for working alongside the Head of Waterfront to ensure the safe and secure operation of HOC’s Waterfront, including the new Aquaglide floating challenge track. Together, they will provide assistance with daily lifeguarded free swims for all sections, and instruct and supervise HOC\'s LIT and CIT instructional swim periods. When required, the Program Support Instructors will work as both land and/or water activity instructors as well.
Instructors provide program instruction, based on an outlined program curriculum and Community, Leadership, Accountability, and Performance, fundamental qualities. Standards are developed on skills-based progressions through an established awards system already in place at HOC. Instructors are expected to teach classes that are age-appropriate, productive, and fun. This includes being prepared to teach in a variety of weather conditions (rainy day programs). Evening instruction (2 days) of evening activities is an expectation of all Activity Instructors. Activity Instructors are required to maintain their program areas and equipment, ensuring adequate equipment supply and safety during daily program development time (PDT) each day (1 hr) as required. Every week instructors are also responsible for writing personal evaluations on each camper they teach during the week. As a part of the larger camp community activity instructors also expected to actively participate and provide supervision during All-Camp Activities throughout the week. This includes program periods that may not be outlined on daily schedules, such as meals, section activities, free swim, campfires, and others as assigned.
DAILY / WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide daily supervision and lifeguarding for free swim periods and section activities.
Provide instruction and supervision for HOC\'s Staff Development swim programs, including Emergency First Aid Instruction for LITs.
Provide assistance and supervision for the Teammate Program as required.
Provide assistance to Camp Programs as required by the Program Director (PDT, inventory, inspections, instruction, etc).
Provide supervision for any additional waterfront programming, including the new Aquaglide floating challenge track.
Daily program development/maintenance time (1 hour) as needed.
Evening activity instruction ( Monday, Tuesday) (1 hour).
Wednesday cabin coverage to facilitate counsellor evening off.
Sunday Camper Registration (work brigades, registration, evening program).
Saturday- Swim/First Aid Instruction for LITs.
Thursday- compose detailed camper evaluations (for any program instructional classes assigned throughout the week).
Additional classes and supervision as required.
Preparation of alternative \"Rainy Day\" programs.
Work One “Holdover Weekend”. Friday evening cabin supervision (if required) and provide programming and supervision for holdover campers (campers here 2+ weeks) Saturday and Sunday.
ALL STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
All Program staff are required to attend the May program development weekend.

Attendance for all staff to the June orientation week training is mandatory. This training period is where each staff will receive essential employment information and training for a successful summer experience.

Camp Misquah offers a memorable summer experience for youth and adults with developmental disabilities, with ages ranging from 14 to 60+. The Camp is located about 90 minutes from Ottawa on the shores of Lac Bitobi near Gracefield, Quebec. It is a rewarding place to work and has received a 5 star rating on the Indeed Jobsite.
This is an overnight camp for campers and staff with high staff to camper ratios. Planning is underway regarding the schedule, however typically there are six 7 day camp sessions with short breaks between sessions, along with pre-camp training, both in Ottawa (one day) and at camp (three days). Training will start is late June with camp sessions running from early July 2 to late August. Exact dates will be determined in early 2021.
To be successful, the Camp needs to have youth with a broad range of skills, energy and an interest in doing something different this summer. We are looking for:

The Head Lifeguard for the Appleby Camp is responsible for diligently monitoring the activities in the pool areas to prevent accidents and provide a safe environment to campers. The Head Guard is also responsible for providing leadership & training to the lifeguard team as well as assisting in making the weekly program schedule for the pool and lifeguards. The Head Lifeguard is also the camp’s head First Aid Responder.
Specific Accountabilities:

- Responsible for supervising the pool area, 3 – 5 lifeguards and program.
- Responsibilities would include 1.5-2 weeks (approximately) of pre-summer work of camp planning, organizing and purchasing supplies, lifeguard training, camp set up.
